That One Person

I want to be a fantastic writer. I want to reach out for greatness and actually hold it in my hands. I want people to make Youtube videos about my poems, I want there to be movie productions based on my books. I want to be special, and raved about, and I want people to still reference my work in a hundred years.

But all that melts away when I think about my favorite author. She’s not that famous, but incredibly talented. People don’t give her enough credit. Her work inspires me and encourages me and….if I could be like her–O if I  could be like her! If I could be special to just a handful of people, young or old, it would mean the world to me. And really, I would rather be talented in the eyes of one person than in the eyes of all the world.
